Positivistic Labour Leaders
- people of the new era

The concept of Positivistic Labour came into existence in last century, as a concept of human activity leading to maximum effort organization in order to preserve the Polish economy of that period, when foreign powers predominated in Poland. Positivistic Labour concept was particularly important after Poland had gained independence in 1918, when time for country restoration and development initiation had come.

For many decades after World War II, the positivistic labour concept has not been paid attention to, although it still remained in social awareness, particularly in the region of Wielkopolska, where people always remembered Hipolit Cegielski, a great advocate and lasting harbinger of the positivistic labour of the 19th century. Positivistic labour was then meant as the labour from the ground up, labour filled with patriotism, labour beneficial to the whole society.

Eras do change, as well as various definitions do. Today’s positivistic labour is perceived as a versatile activity leading to modernizing our country and our society, it is perceived as readiness for new social and cultural era challenges, the era, that tends to global, economic, scientific and informational integration. In that new era, the positivistic labour is being relocated from the economic to human intellectual activity area and from material production to management and organization area. Sometimes it is also relocated into the social politics, education and science areas.

That is exactly why today’s people of positivistic labour are not only engineers and businessmen, not only industrial workers and doctors, but also scientists, clergy, big economic organization bosses – all those, whose activity serves best the country and nation interest.

One of the main missions of located in Poznań Hipolit Cegielski Society is to restore and disseminate positivistic labour interpreted as serving the country and the nation.
