Economic and social growth of present Poland occurs in the world of great global technology, civilization and culture transformations, in the world of new expressions, such as information economics, money economics, international consortiums economics and conventional commerce, services and goods economics. New surprising challenges for societies emerge from transformations that bring new hope for more effective welfare levels, prompt educational and scientific advancement, societies diffusion and new social and intellectual standards for the whole globe. However, the globalization brings many threats connected with these abrupt transformations – significant economic differences between individual regions, enclaves of poverty confronting regions of exquisite wealth, zones of extraordinary technological progress of future civilization confronting regions of almost medieval underdevelopment and economic stagnation. New world order that arises in XXI century is featured by clashes and conflicts with many negative occurrences such as terrorism, which is the result of difficulties with global society and its individual milieus adaptation to transformations and their rate. We, inhabitants of Wielkopolska, the second largest region of Poland, inherit progressive, positivist traditions and feeling imbued with strong patriotism and affection for work for the Homeland, we decided to create Towarzystwo im. Hipolita Cegielskiego. By doing this, we expressed our will to support economic and social growth of our region, to act as the trustworthy membership of Poland in the European Union and to cooperate with societies of both urbanized and rural areas of Poland. In our programme and overall activities we tend to be in fidelity with Hipolit Cegielski, great harbinger of social advancement of Wielkopolska and Poland in past century. His contemporary activity in economics, culture and science is our important and inspiring example to follow. We are a civil, social circle organization. Sciencists, economics circle representatives, people of culture, arts and media are associated with us. These are the people, who are united in their common feel for patriotic values, respect for national traditions, moral and positivist values. We also have a big group of young inhabitants of Wielkopolska in our association. Our goal is to continue the ideology of our patron Hipolit Cegielski, a man, who was a great visionary of economic growth, social and cultural activist, publisher and a scientist, but first and foremost – an intercessor of positivist labour; labour well organized and socially useful. In order to follow this goal, we tend to consolidate and develop modern positivism by incorporating new conceptions and creating new image of civil society. Towarzystwo im. Hipolita Cegielskiego will always support any activities of local authorities, which tend to consolidate the civil society, social, economic, cultural and educational growth. One of our main goals is to enliven autonomies local and regional cooperation, as well as to initiate and support their cooperation with the European Union and to commit ourselves in transformations of non-governmental, civil organizations. One important direction of Towarzystwo im. Hipolita Cegielskiego activity was and is to popularise local economic, social, educational and proecological initiatives. We tend to realize pro-social projects, competitions and promote people and their achievements in cooperation with economic subjects such as trade chambers, associations, unions, funds, autonomies, banks, etc. Since year 2000 we have been running a project called ”Consumers’ Service Quality Contest” and along with Wielkopolska Fundacja Żywnościowa (Wielkopolska Food Foundation) and media of Poznań, we have also been running a project called ”Consumers’ Product Quality Contest” – ”The Best in Poland”. The main goal of these contests is to promote Polish entrepreneurship in the European Union and to increase economic activity, especially of small and medium businesses. We also act to promote celebrated personalities of science, culture, arts, economy and education by running projects called ”Złoty Hipolit” (Golden Hipolit) – ”Celebrated Personality of Positivist Labour” and ”Positivist Labour Champion”. We never forget about foreigners, who invest their money in Poland or support Poland in various social, economical, scientific and cultural sphere. Such foreign personalities are awarded by granting a prize of ”Golden Hipolit of Honour” and ”Hipolit of Honour”. One of the most important elements of our activity is cooperation with media and creation of our own advisory activity by running an Internet website of EuroPartner www.europartner.com.pl and the website of Towarzystwo itself – www.thc.org.pl . We are especially interested and tend to act in provincial and rural areas, where positivist labour traditions are still very active. Agriculture and rural areas restructuring along with technological and social infrastructure modernization is our main field of our operations there. We also want to support individual people and local circle champions initiatives. We perceive Poland membership in the European Unionropean Union as a great chance for our country. We will popularise the knowledge about the European Union and support activities connected with the European Union development in our region. Towarzystwo im. Hipolita Cegielskiego pays great attention to popularisation of modern economics knowledge, pro-ecological attitude, civilization initiatives information flow and foreign relations and information exchange. This is why we especially tend to realize educational projects, unemployment counteraction projects and bursarial programmes for talented youth, especially from provincial and rural areas. Young Positivists Club has been founded to create a basis for cooperation between young Polish intelligentsia, a group of young scientists, entrepreneurs, managers, artists, journalists and cinematographers. The club is the place of their meetings, discussions and birth of new bright social, economic, philosophical and scientific ideas. Young Positivists Club is also a place of meetings with celebrated personalities of culture, science, education and business, both local and foreign. We always claim, that intensive knowledge gaining, science development and permanent society education must be the main goal of European civilization development. Referring to Hipolit Cegielski traditions, we tend to support all projects conformable with positivist ideology of local circles and to support any civil initiative projects. We plan to publish printed materials referring to that field. Today, at the beginning of the 21st century, like in the past, Poland as a member of the European Union has good chances to join up with the developed economies. Polish society must soon become a civil society, able to compete with other European Union countries, a society of well educated people, who will usher most valuable elements of our national identity into the modern global civilization. Towarzystwo im. Hipolita Cegielskiego will always initiate and support any activities that could help to realize the goal. Annual reports of the Hipolit Cegielski Society are available in its headquarters. |
